A short circuit between the harness and the body (ground) or the relevant switches may also cause wire and terminal failures. Before inspection, check whether the body terminal is firmly fixed, and then test according to the following steps.

1. Check the connection and disconnection of wires
First, remove the terminals on both sides of the control computer ECU and the sensor, and then measure the resistance between the corresponding terminals. If the resistance value does not exceed 1 ohm, then the wire is normal for the next inspection. To improve the accuracy of measurement, it is better to gently shake the wire both vertically and horizontally. Also, pay attention to most wire terminals. The multimeter rod shall be inserted from the rear end of the connector, but the waterproof terminal rod with waterproof sleeve shall not be inserted from the rear end, because the terminal rod will be deformed if not careful.

2. Check the short-circuit resistance value
First, remove the wire terminals on both sides of the control computer ECU and the sensor, and then measure the resistance between both sides of the connector terminals and the body. If the resistance is more than 1 ohm, one end of the rod shall be measured on both wire connectors.

3. Check the terminal appearance and contact pressure
First, remove each terminal one by one, check whether there is rust contact and dirt on the connector terminal, and remove corrosion and dirt. Then check whether the terminal strip is loose or damaged and whether the terminal is firmly fixed. The terminal shall not be loose when pulling gently. On the contrary, if the plug terminal is easier to pull out than other seat holes, it may cause poor contact during use.
